With the dissemination and popularization of EBM around the world, the evidence-based laboratory medicine has boomed gradually. However, the substantial researches in tbe field are still inadequale now. Based on the facts of hospital laboratory medicine, this article discussed the feasibility that apply the rationale and methods to orient the laboratory quality control.
The quality control of lung transplantation involves many aspects, such as team building, selection of recipients, preoperative diagnosis and evaluation of recipients, maintenance of brain-dead donors, evaluation and acquisition of donors, surgical operation, postoperative management and postoperative follow-up. Precision management is the core concept of operation quality control. Only by normalizing the operation quality control of lung transplantation to provide basic guarantee for multi-team cooperation and development of lung transplantation management in the future, building a complete lung transplantation database to excavate data resources and improve the quality of transplantation, and comprehensively building a Chinese lung transplantation quality control system with multi-team participation and cooperation, can we improve the overall level of surgical diagnosis and treatment of lung transplantation in China.
[Abstract]It is an effective way of constructing a lung transplantation quality control system suitable for China's national conditions to break through the many dilemmas in China. Under the leadership of the National Quality Control Center, a stage-by-stage and full-scale quality control system for lung transplantation in China has been gradually constructed and extended to many lung transplantation centers nationwide, which has strongly promoted the development of lung transplantation in China. This article outlines the construction, promotion and experience of China's lung transplantation quality control system, aiming to provide reference for further development of relevant measures to promote the homogenization of lung transplantation in China.
ObjectiveExplore the impact of a digital-intelligence-based quality control platform for thyroid cancer on the effectiveness of clinical diagnosis and treatment quality management. MethodsThe digital-intelligence-based quality control platform for thyroid cancer at Zhejiang Provincial People’s Hospital was launched at the end of July 2022. In its initial phase, six quality control indicators related to the standardized diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancer were deployed. This study analyzed the changes in these six quality control indicators between January 2022 and November 2023, comparing data before and after the platform’s implementation. ResultsCompared with the period from January to July 2022 (prior to the platform’s launch), the rates of preoperative cytopathological examination (t=–8.490, P<0.001) and postoperative pTNM staging for thyroid cancer patients (t=–3.027, P=0.013) increased from July to November 2023 (one year post-launch). However, the proportion of minimally invasive surgeries among thyroid cancer patients (t=4.085, P=0.002) decreased. The linear regression model results indicated that, following the platform’s launch, there was a gradual increase over time in both the preoperative cytopathological examination rate for thyroid cancer (P=0.001) and the postoperative pTNM staging rate (P=0.049). ConclusionPreliminary results of this study suggest that the thyroid cancer digital-intelligence-based quality control platform developed by our team can effectively enhance the standardized quality control of clinical diagnosis and treatment for thyroid cancer.
This article reviewed other literatures in the quality management of clinical trials and summarized author’s experience in quality control of clinical trials which the author conducted as principle investigator over the past years. It provides a reference for fresh investigators before they conduct their own clinical trials.
ObjectiveTo summary the standardized management in research and applications of platelet derivatives for tissue regeneration.MethodsThe related literature about bottlenecks and standardized management of platelet derivatives in recent years was reviewed and analyzed.ResultsAlthough the platelet derivatives are increasingly used to accelerate the regenerative processes of injured joint, skin, nerve, ligament/tendon, and alveolar bone, etc., the large variation in preparation methods, diverse nomenclature, incomplete reporting system, and lack of quantitative and standardized management of the preparation process have caused uncertainty and incomparability of research and application results. In recent years, there has been a trend towards standardized research and management of platelet derivatives.ConclusionThe implementation of standardized research and quality management will contribute to promote the research and application of platelet derivatives in the field of tissue regeneration.
High-quality development has become the command stick for the current reform of medical institutions. This article combines the practical experience of West China Hospital of Sichuan University to sort out the difficulties in the construction of provincial medical quality control centers in China. It summarizes the problems in policy support, intervention methods, work content, network construction, discipline construction, and quality control efficiency of provincial medical quality control centers, and proposes that building a collaborative platform based on key management projects, establishing a multi-level operation mode, and constructing a benchmark construction model are the key paths to reform the management of provincial medical quality control centers.
Mitochondrial quality control includes mechanisms such as mitochondria-derived vesicles, fusion / fission and autophagy. These processes rely on the collaboration of a variety of key proteins in the inner and outer membranes of mitochondria to jointly regulate the morphological structure and functional integrity of mitochondria, repair mitochondrial damage, and maintain the homeostasis of their internal environment. The imbalance of mitochondrial quality control is associated with leukemia. Therefore, by exploring the mechanisms related to mitochondrial quality control of various leukemia cells and their interactions with immune cells and immune microenvironment, this article sought possible targets in the treatment of leukemia, providing new ideas for the immunotherapy of leukemia.
With the rapid development of the field of interventional therapy of cardiac valve, the innovative researches of interventional therapy of cardiac valve products have become the focus of global research. At present, there is a serious shortage of interventional valvular medical devices on the market in China, and large-scale interventional valve products are undergoing early human trials or confirmatory clinical trials. The effective quality control of clinical trials is of great significance to ensure that clinical trial data can be used to support the marketing of device products. By analyzing the problems in clinical trials quality control of interventional valvular medical devices in our hospital, and combining the characteristics of device products and diseases, we explore the key points of quality control and provide reference for the implementation and completion of high-quality clinical trials.
Objective To explore the effect of sequential nutritional intervention mode on improving early postoperative nutritional status in patients with gastric cancer. Methods A total of 30 patients who underwent radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer in the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Ningbo No.2 Hospital between June and August 2022 were selected as the tiral group by convenience sampling, and another 30 patients who underwent radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer between September 2021 and January 2022 were retrospectively selected as the control group. The trial group received the sequential nutritional intervention model constructed by quality control circle activities in the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, and the control group received routine nutritional support. The nutritional status and quality of life of the two groups were evaluated one month after discharge. Results Before intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) score, serum albumin, serum prealbumin, body weight, or Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30 (QLQ C30) score between the two groups (P>0.05). After intervention, both groups showed improvements in PG-SGA score, serum albumin, and serum prealbumin compared to before intervention (P<0.05); there was no significant change in body weight in the trial group (P>0.05), while the control group experienced a decrease in body weight (P<0.05); the trial group showed an improvement in QLQ C30 score (P<0.05), whereas the control group did not show significant change in QLQ C30 score (P>0.05). Compared to the control group after intervention, the trial group showed better PG-SGA score (7.97±1.65 vs. 8.83±1.26), serum albumin level [(40.61±1.30) vs. (39.93±0.78) g/L], serum prealbumin level [(0.266±0.030) vs. (0.229±0.051) g/L], body weight [(63.12±7.39) vs. (58.17±9.18) kg], and QLQ C30 score (62.63±9.01 vs. 57.23±7.13), with all differences being statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Sequential nutritional intervention model is helpful to improve the early nutritional status and quality of life of patients after radical gastrectomy, and has clinical promotion value.
