Objective To investigate the ways of scientific research knowledge acquirement, and the situation of research capacity and demand of neurological nurses in Sichuan Province. Methods From May to June 2015, 153 neurological nurses from 7 hospitals of Sichuan Province were enrolled by convenient stratified sampling method. The ways of acquiring scientific research knowledge, research capacity, and research demand of the nurses were investigated by questionnaire. Results Among the 153 nurses, there were 50.3% with low level, 47.7% with moderate level, and 2.0% with high level of scientific research capacity, respectively. The total scores of nursing research capacity ranged from 4 to 101. The dimension of " capacity of generating the research ideas” was the highest, and the dimensions of " capacity of designing research protocol” and " capacity of analyzing research data and material” were the lowest. Of the respondents, 66.2% had never attended any research training program, 51.3% acquired scientific research knowledge by themselves, and 65.6% were willing to participate research training courses. The respondents tended to study on their own by internet. There were significant differences in scientific research capacity among neurological nurses with different initial education, attending the college entrance examination or not, having attended research training and self-study or not (P<0.05). Conclusions Most nurses acquire scientific research knowledge by themselves, and insufficient research training couldn’t satisfy the research demand of neurological nurses. The initial education degree and research study intention are related to research capacity. However, due to the limited amount of samples, the positive influence of self-study and research training on the research capacity still need to be further explored.
We aimed to investigate the improving measures of the training of research ability in cardiothoracic surgical resident. We analyzed the current training status of researching ability in residents by reviewing relevant literatures and combing with the actual situations. There are still some aspects of the training program for research ability in cardiothoracic surgical resident needing further improvements, such as training system, assessment system. Scientific research ability is one of the basic abilities for cardiothoracic surgical resident. Strengthening the training of research ability for cardiothoracic surgical resident is propitious to the long-term development of the doctors' career.
ObjectiveTo analyze the status of scientific papers published by clinical medicine postgraduates during the "double-track integration" training period. MethodsData of publications of 634 clinical medicine postgraduate students who were been trained in the "double-track integration" system in West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University from 2015 to 2017 were collected. The data of the papers published during the concurrent training and residency were retrospectively analyzed. Results634 postgraduates with master degree in clinical medicine published 1 038 papers in total. Students from 3 grades published 1.606, 1.554 and 1.785 papers on average respectively, and the overall average number of publications was 1.637 per person. The composition ratios of the journal types of articles were: SCI, 37.96%; MEDLINE, 6.55%; Chinese core journals, 55.49%. Statistical differences were found in the types of journals published in the three grades. The composition ratios of article types were: case report, 24.56%; review, 34.01%; original study, 41.43%. There was no statistical difference in the composition of article types in 3 grades. All 634 graduate students met the requirements for thesis publication and succeeded in completing the training. ConclusionsIn the "double-track integration" training system, postgraduates with master degree in clinical medicine can meet the training requirements of publishing relevant articles prior to graduation.
【Abstract】 Objective To study the current status and satisfactory degree of student volunteers’’ participation in scientific research, so as to provide suggestion for improving the scientific research capability of medical undergraduates. Methods Carried out a survey on 407 student volunteers from EBM (Evidence-Based Medicine) and MCQ (Matrix clinical quality) research program in West China Medical School, Sichuan University with self-designed questionnaires. The data was described and analyzed with logistic regression. Results A total of 351 (86.24%) valid questionnaires were retrieved among all the 407 questionnaires assigned.80.6% of the respondents were contented with the current situation of scientific volunteers’ program.34.7% of respondents thought that lack of basic knowledge and skill was the main factor that limited the progress of their research work. While for another 31.6% respondents, the main limited factor was lack of extracurricular time.21.1% of research activities were not operated in a standardized organizational mode.96.2% of the respondents emphasized on the necessity of exhibiting their works and achievements in public.“Tutor’s instructions”, “training on basic knowledge and skills” and “organizational mode” were the main factors which affect the satisfactory degree on scientific volunteer programs (P=0.027, 0.011, and 0.000, respectively) . Conclusion The satisfactory degree of students who participated in scientific volunteer programs is generally satisfying, however affected by various factors. Increase of participation rate in scientific research program can be attributed to factors such as establishment of a scientific volunteer recruitment system, improvement of students’ research capability, standard organizational modes, standard managing and operating mechanism, embed training lessons into courses
