Fundus disease is a kind of common ophthalmic disease with high blindness rate and great harm. Although great breakthroughs have been made in medical treatment, laser photocoagulation, radiotherapy and gene therapy of fundus disease, with the further understanding of the essence of fundus disease, there are higher requirements for the treatment of fundus disease. To strengthen scientific research on the etiology, pathological mechanism and clinical treatment of fundus diseases, to control the quality of research, to develop reasonable treatment plans and explore new treatment methods under the guidance of evidence-based medicine theory, to further improve the level of medical treatment and benefit patients with fundus diseases will still be a formidable challenge in the future.
Objective To retrospectively analyze medical treatment during the Wenchuan earthquake and evaluate emergency medical work. Methods On the basis of the data reported to the provincial disaster relief headquarter by cities and counties around Sichuan province, we established a database for data processing by using SPSS 11.0. And descriptive statistical analysis was performed. Results The emergency response of Sichuan health system was quick, effective and well-organized. Conclusion In the face of extraordinary disaster, Sichuan province satisfactorily completed its work on emergency medical treatment despite the unimaginable enormous workload and difficulty, and achieved an initial success on earthquake relief.
Ocular fundus diseases is a kind of ophthalmic diseases that occur in the vitreous, retina, choroid and optic nerve, including a series of pathophysiological changes such as inflammation, exudation and proliferation. Because of high morbidity and high blindness rate, ocular fundus diseases has been paid more and more attention from medical community. With the continuous deepening of research on its etiology, anatomy and pathological mechanism in recent years, clinicians have obtained more abundant treatment methods than in the past, and the medical treatment of ocular fundus diseases have made many phased progress. However, due to its wide spectrum of diseases and complex pathological mechanism, clinicians still need to further explore more effective treatment methods, and improve the effect of diagnosis and treatment to ocular fundus diseases.
Retinal vein occlusion (RVO) is a common blinding retinal vascular disease. Secondary macular edema, retinal ischemia, and neovascular complications can lead to severe visual impairment. The 2024 edition of Expert consensus on clinical diagnosis and treatment path of retinal vein occlusion in China systematically elaborates on the etiology, classification, and diagnostic and therapeutic workflow of RVO, emphasizes the importance of whole-course management, clarifies the application principles of laser photocoagulation, and establishes anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) therapy as the first-line treatment. In recent years, the types of anti-VEGF drugs have continuously expanded, the administration schemes and clinical treatment experience have been continuously accumulated, and many new advancements have been made in the research on prognostic biomarkers, which have driven the drug treatment for RVO to enter a new stage of development. In view of this, it is of great clinical and practical significance to supplement the evidence and refine the strategies in the clinical intervention section of the 2024 edition of the consensus. Therefore, Fundus Disease Group of Ophthalmological Society of Chinese Medical Association, Fundus Disease Group of Ophthalmologist Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, in collaboration with the expert group of Chinese expert consensus on clinical intervention pathway for retinal vein occlusion (2026 supplemented edition), after systematically reviewing the latest evidence-based medical data, referring to relevant international guidelines, and based on the current clinical practice situation in China, conducted in-depth discussions on six key clinical issues in the field of RVO drug therapy. They supplemented and updated the 2024 edition of Expert consensus on clinical diagnosis and treatment path of retinal vein occlusion in China, and ultimately formed this consensus. This consensus aims to provide retinal specialists and other practitioners in ophthalmology with more advanced and personalized medical standardized guidance for RVO, ensuring treatment safety and efficacy for patients.
