Uterine prolapse refers to the condition where the uterus descends from its normal position, with the cervix reaching below the level of the ischial spines, and in severe cases, the uterus may completely prolapse outside the vaginal opening. This condition significantly affects the patient's physical and mental health and quality of life. Currently, the commonly used clinical treatment methods have certain limitations, while traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) offers a high level of safety and strong personalization, making it an increasingly important treatment option. Given that existing guidelines can no longer fully meet the clinical needs of TCM treatments, the Gynecology Branch of the China Association of Chinese Medicine and the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine have led the revision of the "Guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of uterine prolapse with traditional Chinese medicine" with the aim of standardizing and improving the level of TCM diagnosis and treatment of uterine prolapse, further increasing the diagnosis and treatment rates, and improving the quality of life for women.
