Adenosine triphophate (ATP), substantially liberated from the injured cells, activates the inflammatory cells to secrete various inflammatory factors, thus triggering uncontrolled systemic inflammatory response and thrombosis with aggravating the degree of damage. Metabolic pathway of adenosine consists of adenosine (Ado) synthase CD39-CD73, nucleoside transporters (NTs) and termination system of adenosine deaminase (ADA) and adenosine kinase (ADK). As a " switch” of the inflammatory response, the metabolic pathway converts ATP (the pro-inflammatory cytokines) to Ado (the anti-inflammatory mediators), maintaining the homeostasis between pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory as well as affecting the outcome of the injury. This review focused on the recent progress of adenosine metabolic pathway in cell injury.
Intraoperative rapid and accurate pathological diagnosis of lung nodules is crucial for formulating individualized surgical strategies. Frozen section remains the most widely used intraoperative diagnostic method. However, its diagnostic performance may be compromised by structural alterations of lung tissue and difficulties in distinguishing early-stage lung adenocarcinoma subtypes. Modified frozen section techniques and rapid immunohistochemistry have improved diagnostic accuracy to some extent through optimized specimen preparation and the incorporation of molecular marker detection. In recent years, emerging diagnostic technologies based on physical and chemical signals, including mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, and bioelectrical impedance spectroscopy, have developed rapidly. By analyzing the molecular composition, optical characteristics, or dielectric properties of tissues, these techniques enable rapid identification of lung nodules and have shown promising potential for tumor discrimination and histological classification. This article reviews the current advances in intraoperative rapid diagnostic techniques for lung nodules.
Psychological problems are significant factors that contribute to the occurrence of postoperative complications, reduced quality of life, and prolonged hospital stays. Lung cancer patients who require surgery often experience high psychological stress related to both the disease and the treatment, making them more susceptible to depression and anxiety. Therefore, timely intervention to address these psychological issues is crucial for promoting postoperative recovery and improving patients' quality of life. This paper will review the current status, impact, and interventions for depression and anxiety-related psychological problems in lung cancer surgery patients.
