為幫助糖尿病患者認識自我管理的重要性，文章從人口學資料、疾病和治療機制、知識態度信念狀況以及心理社會等方面對糖尿病患者自我管理行為及影響因素進行歸納總結，并就自我管理干預措施進行展望，以期望能指導糖尿病患者自我管理干預措施的實施。
