膈肌是最主要的呼吸肌, 大約70% 的呼吸功由膈肌承擔。在危重病和慢性阻塞性肺疾病等慢性疾病患者中, 常發生膈肌功能障礙, 從而導致呼吸窘迫、呼吸衰竭、機械通氣時間延長、呼吸肌依賴及撤機失敗。監測膈肌電活動可用于評價膈肌功能及神經肌肉疾病的診斷與治療。因此, 了解膈肌電活動的監測及應用具有重要意義。
