Epilepsy, as a chronic neurological disorder, severely impacts the physical and mental health as well as the quality of life of affected children. Home-based care plays a crucial role in the long-term management of children with epilepsy, effectively improving disease control and quality of life. This article systematically analyzes the characteristics of home-based care recipients, care models, evaluation indicators, and other relevant aspects for children with epilepsy, and proposes optimization recommendations. Home-based care models should be child-centered, spanning the entire disease cycle, with an emphasis on individualization, comprehensiveness, and professionalism. Additionally, it is essential to integrate information technology to diversify care approaches, strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration, and improve the outcome evaluation system.
